I have been where you are now. My symptoms may have been a bit different from yours, but I have definitely experienced the frustration and powerlessness that comes from feeling like rubbish and not knowing why. And I know (from my own experience and the experience of the hundreds of people I have helped) that you do not need to be stuck there forever.
In my late forties and early fifties, I struggled. I was overweight, depressed, in pain, boderline diabetic, struggling with digestive issues and permanently exhausted. But more than anything, I was scared. Scared that things would only get worse as I got older.
I had a choice. Either I could carry on exactly the same and allow things to deteriorate, or I could try and do things differently.
The fact is that what we are not changing, we are choosing.
And I no longer wanted to choose the things that led me to feeling so unwell and unhappy. And so I launched my self into a journey of discovery that not only transformed my life, but gave me the knowledge and experience to transform yours too.
I gave up my long-time corporate career to train in Functional Medicine and Behavioural Science. I wanted to really understand the 'what', 'why' and 'how' behind the small choices we make each day, and their consequences on how we feel.
The great joy is that this has enabled me to help hundreds of women, just like you, to reclaim their health and get back to feeling like themselves again.
The food we eat is so much more than fuel. Thinking of it simply in terms of calories, completely discounts the bio-chemical miracle that is the human body.
Our body uses the food we eat as a sort of software code. It is information that the body 'reads' to understand the world around us. The better the code, the better the 'instructions' that are given to our various cells and organs.

But sometimes things get a bit more complicated. Either we get stuck in repetitive behaviours and addictive patterns which are extremely difficult to shift on our own, or physiological stressors (such as diet, toxins, infection or trauma) have impaired our body's ability to self regulate. More often than not, as in my case, we are experiencing both of these things, in one form or another, at the same time.
Unfortunately this double whammy is becoming the norm and more and more of us are falling victim to chronic disease.
