We have all been 'trained' to expect things to taste very sweet; this is what drives our cravings!
Magic Muffin Mix puts YOU back in control of how much sugar you consume because it contains no added sugars or artifical sweeteners.
The choice is yours to add as much or as little sweetener as you want!
Scroll down for some ideas on how you can personalise Magic Muffin Mix to create the perfect muffin for you!
Simply add a mashed banana to your Magic Muffin Mix! Or take it a step further and add some chopped nuts as well and bake in a loaf tin as I have done here.
Add two tabelspoons dark chocolate chips and two tablespoons of peanut butter for a decadently fudgy treat!
Replace the milk with the juice of one orange and a tablespoon of honey. Stir in the grated zest of the orange and one tablespoon of finely chopped ginger.
Finely chop two pears. Stir into the mix along with flaked almonds and a dash of almond extract.
Finely grate one medium carrot and stir into the mix along with one teaspoon mixed spice and a handful of chopped walnuts.
Make a delicious wholefood frosting for your muffins by soaking one cup raw cashews in water for at least 2 hours. Blend with two medjool dates, the zest and juice of one lemon and enough water to reach the consistency you prefer. For a sweeter frosting, add another date or two.
Throw in a handful of blueberries and the juice and zest of one lemon.
Add a teaspoon mixed spice along with two tablespoons mixed peel and the juice and zest of one orange. You could even go wild and add a splash of brandy!
Finely grate one medium courgette and add to the mix along with the zest of one lemon and two tablespoons of sugar or maple syrup.
Stir one tablespoon good quality cocoa powder into the mix along with a handful of fresh raspberries.
Three tablespoons (24g) of sugar, honey or syrup or one medium mashed banana added to the full packet will mean that each muffin delivers half a teaspoon of added sugar.
Add any combination of chopped nuts and/or seeds such as pumpkin, sunflower, or chia seeds to increase fibre and healthy fats.
The recommendation is that adults restrict their sugar intake to 24g a day - that's about 6 teaspoons or three tablespoons.
For reference, an average banana is equal to six teaspoons of sugar*. So adding a banana to the mix will mean each muffin delivers and extra half a teaspoon of sugar.
